Russia is a special place. For most people, the country is associated with stereotypes, like vodka, matryoshka nesting dolls, communism and since Family Guy’s epic episode, bears on unicycles. Little do most people know about the music scene in Russia, most of their bands do not make it to mainstream radios and TV channels. That’s actually a pity, because they have awesome music bands, who play awesome music. No, I’m not talking about t.A.T.u. or the infamous One Like Putin song. Today I want to share a very well edited and directed music video from a Russian band, called Leningrad. The song title is “Кольщик” (Kolschik) and it tells a tragic story that takes place in the circus. I don’t want to spoil your fun, so let me just tell, that the video plays backwards and in slow-motion. Now this takes some brain activity, to reconstruct the story, on the other hand, the slower playing speed allows you to spot important details.

The video was done by Fancy Shot agency in cooperation with Versus Pictures. If you want to know more about the band, check out their official website for more videos and tour dates!
